А при чём тут момед? :) Вообщето ваш вопрос больше к соединению,
в каковое входят: момед, линия, АТС, аппаратуро провайдера,
аплинк провайдера ... Не законнектишься - не узнаешь :)

Как можно в линуксе протестировать модем?
Узнать его среднюю скорость, на данном компьютере и линии...
Узнать его максимальную скорость закачки...
