Всегда считал что метрика - приоритет маршрута, который можно задавать
из соображений хопов, а можно, например, из соображений цены трафика или
толщины канала.
То есть метрика есть величина виртуальная, безразмерная. Количество хопов - лишь
один из вариантов ее овеществления.

а вот это вызывает недоверие к ману и удручает, если это действительно так. :((
