Как заставить dhcpcd посылать на dhcp сервер свой host-name?
для dhcp-client это прописывается в /etc/dhclient.conf
И вообще, почему этого не происходит?
вин-клиенты нормально регистрируются в ddns, а линукс из-за этого
обламывается. В конфигурации по-умолчанию, я имею в виду.

Либо пускать (ручками) его с параметром "-h name", либо прописать в
ifcfg-<if> "DHCP_HOSTNAME=name"
