Весь фокус в том, что для utf-8 используется другая внутренняя
репрезентация символов. Вот поэтому открыть файл можно,
и он будет читаться, но то, что вы введете потом в этом
буфере с клавиатуры, обратно записать не получится.
То есть, если мы хотим работать с юникодом, то все кириллические
окружения надо переделывать под репрезентацию, основанную на utf-8
(сейчас там используется iso-8859-5). В свое время я этой работой
занимался и готов поделиться результатами. Только меня удивляет,
неужели это до сих пор никому не было нужно?
