у меня как-то проще получилось
в lilo append "hdd=ide-scsi", после чего модули грузятся сами и писалка
видится.

это есть. только
PHILIPS CDD5301 1.0B Removable CD-ROM
при попытке записать что-либо (в любых режимах и любыми методами) все
кончается тем, что cdrecord отваливается на fixating, записанное не читается
(раз 5 пробовал, но на CD-RW (хитрый потому что) ;)
Nero заработал без проблем
