Я бы всё-таки принимал ps2pdf за стандарт. Дело в том, что pdf --
это конечный продукт, с которым уже ничего не сделаешь, в то
время как над postscript еще возможно некое колдовство
(иногда необходимое) с помощью psutils. Вот поэтому при
подготовке серьезных оригинал-макетов приходится проводить
документ через всю цепочку: DVI > PS > PDF.
Ну и, кроме того, я использую Омегу, а pdf-компилятора
с аналогичными возможностями пока что просто нет.
