Добрый день, уважаемые.
Вот может кому будет полезна информация, а может и еще кто что подскажет.
Входные данные такие: имеем материнку Epox 8RDA на базе чипсета nForce2, а
также видео - ATI Radeon 9000. На этой ящике был поставлен Мастер 2.2. Все
было замечательно, за исключением 3D.
Начал разбираться. Начал с комерческих драйверов ati, что входят в состав
М2.2. После установки получил ругань agpgart, типа не знает он ничего про
agp на моем ящике. Полез серфить в инет. Нарыл следующее. Поддержки agp на
этом чипсете в линухе на данный момент просто нет. Мантейнер agpgart не
может получит спеки от nVidia, а сама nVidia имеет поддержку agp для своих
чипсетов только внутри кода драйверов для своих видео карточек. Вот так
вот. Пока nVidia только обещает сделать поддержку agp отдельно от
драйверов своих видео карточек, когда будет не известно (читал заявления
на этот счет представителей nVidia на их форуме, высказанные в начале
апреля). Народ в сети заводит радеоны на nForce с помощью отключения agp в иксах и включение
эмуляции PCI (опция ForcePCIMode в XF86Config-4). Но lucky story я читал
только для XFree 4.3. У меня в окружении М2.2 не получилось, иксы все равно не
грузятся. Попробую на днях пособирать XFree 4.3 из сизифа в окружении
М2.2, поиграюсь с ForcePCIMode снова. Кстати, никто иксы 4.3 из сизифа не
собирал на М2.2? Не поделитесь опытом? Чувствую, что это не тривиально.
