Как по мне, так 2.4.20-alt7 -- вполне и вполне.
Прочитайте в р-не августа 2002 анонс 2.4.19-alt0.5 или около того
-- Вам понадобится обновить _предварительно_ mkinitrd, modutils и
genromfs. Они нормально пересобирались из sisyphus,
дополнительно требовалась только dietlibc (тоже собранная из
src.rpm).
