Вы доки читали? mutt скармливает почту в /usr/lib/sendmail -oi -t, а
дальше ему по барану. Сразу после отправки mailq что-нибудь показывает?
syslog? письма уходят?

Точно, тут что-то связано с постфиксом и со спулом.
