Я FireBird потому и указал что он мультиплатформенный и ему DBA не
нужен. Да и у нас так все и работает (стоят FireBird-ы по филиалам и
синхронизация хоть голубиной почтой:)
Если сильно уж ничего не хочется ставить (кроме монстра ахсекса) можно
взять embedded yaffil (всего одна dll)
