There are several new GATOS file release available from http://gatos.sf.net/

   * AVview 0.11.5

       + Closed captioning support (requires corresponding code in ati.2
         drivers and km)

       + miscelleneous stability fixes

   * ati.2 binary drivers for XFree86 4.3.0

       These are drivers for recently released XFree86 4.3.0. Besides
     new features in XFree86 4.3.0 (like 3d acceleration for Radeon 8500
     cards) these include VBI/closed captioning support for Radeon
     cards. Some of the code was substantially changed during merge, in
     particular mach64 and rage128 cards did not have much testing
     with these drivers.

   * For people compiling from CVS there are two patches for Mesa GL
     drivers (http://gatos.sf.net/ati.2.php)

   * Also, CVS version of km contains VBI/closed captioning support for
     Radeon cards.

Note: if you are compiling ati.2 modules or km yourself be aware that
there were numerous problems when using gcc 3.2.x compilers. These
compilers are not recommeded for compiling kernel code..

                      best

                        Vladimir Dergachev
