Не вижу необходимости держать его как файл/принт сервер.
Давно уже с этим успешно справляется самба (куча ресурсов и мешок
принтсерверов). А акаунты и в самбе и в новеле вести, увольте.
На наших удаленных станциях (сетки по 10-15 компов) всего по одному
серверу. Был когда-то Новел, но когда встали задачи кроме файл/принт
сервера: почта, маршрутизация, прокси и еще куча всего, я прозрачно для
пользователей перевел эти сервера под линукс с Нетварь-эмулятором.
А потом и клиентов перевел на самбу и нетварь-эму (вспомнил - Марс)
тю-тю.
Да самое простое: дозвонится до удаленного сервера мне проще
настроить на Линуксе чем на Нетвари.
И теперь я не езжу за 150 км. к серверам, а сижу дозваниваюсь и
отращиваю ж. :-)
Теперь Новеловский сервер (5.1) всего один, здесь-рядом, вот его и под
нож.
