ИМХО, все уже просто забыли, _как_ он там работал :-)
Кроме того, не надо забывать о различиях в потребностях
тогдашних и нынешних версий иксов. Нынешние (4.1) сами
по себе едят десятки метров. Если на это положить ещё и
Gnome2 с наутилусом, то даже при пользовании AbiWord'ом
система будет фактически работать в свопе. ИМХО, конечно.
