Этот chipset 686B, похоже, знаменито глючный. Возможно, Вам
поможет строка в setup: PCI Delay Transaction - Disabled.

Видеокарточка спокойная, монитор хороший. Не должно быть проблем
с запуском Х-ов. Попробуйте от root'а запустить XFdrake --expert
и уточните настройки, а уж потом startx.
