Если вы так написали, вам достаточно
писать
$ scanimage,
не нужно указывать полный путь к устройству.
Прочитайте внимательно man sane-plustek и
инф. на сайте.
Я так понял, что ваш сканер имеет другой Vendor ID (0x55f, а не
0x400) и поэтому не поддерживается.
См. на форуме на сайте SANE.
