Привет!
Да была такая проблема на Мастере, mgetty после этого
дохла и не поднималась.
Проблема была в слишком большом размере файла /etc/issue
Лечится просто - надо использовать файл issue.net он
меньше размером
вот строчка из моего inittab
S2:23:respawn:/sbin/mgetty ttyS1 -i /etc/issue.net

Решил удалить этот файл, но результат тот же.
