Пинг проходит по адресу 172.16.254.1 - это адрес vmnet1 на хост-машине.
По-видимому это и есть адрес хост-машины.
Кроме того, в WinME под VMware команда winipcfg выдала табличку, где
172.16.254.1 характеризуется как "Серверы DNS".
Поясните, пожалуйста, что такое сервер WINS. Могу ли я, например, указать
адрес 127.0.0.1 по которому squid отслеживает запросы на связь с Интернетом.
Mozilla, в отличие от штатного IE в WinME, не воспринимет proxy squid по тому адресу.
