Слово "сеть" действительно неуместно. Получилось "масло маслянное".
После Ваших слов о пинге я понял, что мой Linux не настроен на работу
в локальной сети(надеюсь, что сейчас правильно выразился). Я пока
плохо понимаю в организации локальной сети. Например, можно ли в /etc/hosts
записать разные адреса своей машины под разные samba в виде:
127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain loopback
192.168.0.1 myhost
172.16.254.2 vmwarehost
Первый - понятно, второй - для штатной samba, третий - для samba VMware.
(в третьем случае адрес 172.16.254.1 занят vmnet1 при начальной конфигурации).
Простите за многословие, но мне важны начальные понятия.
Надеюсь дальше будет легче :) .
P.S. Не могу понять, какой у меня личный домен - localdomain?
И ещё, важна ли работа xinetd, он у меня почему-то не стартует.
