У меня возник совершенно дурацкий вопрос - а чем Xft2
принципиально отличается от freetype2 (кроме fontconfig'а)
и можно ли используя freetype добиться тех же визуальных
результатов, как на Xft2?
Спрашиваю я потому, что gnustep-back-art для рендеринга
шрифтов использует только freetype, переводить на Xft2 во
первых очень сложно, а во вторых по словам автора back-end'а
gnustep-back-art должен работать на всех архитектурах,
поддерживаемых GNUstep (linux, bsd, solaris, win, ...).
С другой стороны, gnustep-back-xlib умеет пользоваться Xft,
у меня даже есть полуположительный опыт перевода его на Xft2,
но сам back-xlib - это шаг назад по сравнению в back-art...
