Здравствуйте!
Принтер, подключенный к Linux, используется виндовыми машинами по SMB.
Печатающие виндовые приложения зависают на 1-2 минуты, а потом
начинается печать и приложения размораживаются. Где бы уменьшить время
отклика?

лечите smb сеть.
wins сервер, tcp/ip на всех машинах.
это у вас таймауты идут...
