Нет, 740C - это 740C, но в Москве продавалось довольно много
перемаркированных в 740C cs4281 (они еще шипели страшно). Проверить, что
именно у вас стоит можно с помощью lspci. Если 740С, то должно
получиться:
# lspci

Когда у меня было ядро 2.2.19, карточка точно работала, только модуль,
кажется, тогда назывался в alsa не snd-ymfpci, а как-то по-другому.
