часто такое бывает из за отсутствия прав на перезапись файла с настройками.
например рутом запустил и файл стал рутовым, а потом юзером заходишь и файл уже не перезаписать.
в своем домашнем каталоге _все_ файлы должны принадлежать именно этому юзеру.
