Наблюдал схожий эффект: при попытке обновить пакеты, зависимые от
glibc-core, этот самый новый glibc-core скачивался и даже пытался
установиться, но, найдя устаревшую версию glibc (из Юниора 1.1), кидался
в панику. Пришлось отдельно апдейтить сначала glibc, а уж потом по
истории команд возвращаться к прежнему варианту.
