У меня на работе машины для издевательств - это в основном P133 на 430VX
(как говориться, все лучшее детям 8-)) На них наблюдал подобные глюки
только когда был включен auto dma для hdd и cdrom, или block mode для hdd.
Помогало жесткое отключение указанных фич (переводил на mode 0). Причем
замечено было не только при установке alt, но RH или TSL.
Может и у вас подобное творится?
