Если ядро >= 2.2.19, то Вам достаточно добавить в /etc/lilo.conf строку
вида append=" hdx=ide-scsi", где hdx это Ваше устройство CD-RW. Затем
/sbin/lilo и живите счастливо. Если ядро < 2.2.19, то тут немного другие
пляски, хотя в версии ядра я могу немного ошибаться (не помню в точности
с какой
версии работает этот способ).
