Пытаюсь установить VMWare 3.0, при попытке сборки модуля vmnet получаю,
что у меня нет файла /usr/include/net/sock.h. Где взять этот файл, и
есть ли он вообще?

Есть.
В /usr/lib/kernel/2.4.17-alt1/include/net.

Кто бы знал... Она мне просто вначале предлагала какой-то каталог,
которого несуществует, а /usr/include/ оказался очень похож на то, что
надо. Да и vmmon-то собрался как-то...
