На первом и последнем OpenOffice работает неплохо/приемлемо (64M
recommended); для P90 это тоже вариант (грузить утром), но если
удается отделаться от .doc -- я бы сваливал на LyX. После
приучения там гораздо меньше ручной работы для придания лоска
печатному слову. Да и plain text форматы гораздо пригоднее для
подспудной автоматизации.

Да это уже небольшая разница. Вопрос был в том, от "офисов"
отделаться получается или нет. Есть гораздо более функциональные
и производительные средства.
Посмотрите еще на *свежие* AbiWord и LyX из Sisyphus.
Кстати, могу поделиться рисовалкой органики :) Хотя и сами
можете найти на http://sal.kachinatech.com (что-то я взялся его
раскручивать ;-)
