У меня рядом живут ATA100 IBM и PIO0 ZIP. Изменений в
производительности первого после добавления второго не ощутил.
Кстати, кто-то из девелоперов IDE-кода в ядре писал, что сказки
про "старые винты, тормозящие шлейф" реализуются исключительно в
редких обстоятельствах при стечении кривущего железа.
Другое дело, что при прочих равных развесить девайсы по шлейфам
-- дело нужное.

Более кардинальные -- снять пока сюгейт.
