конечно нельзя.
для машин с линухом internic выделил пространство имен lin*
для машин с вин internic выделил пространство имен win*
таким образом для хоста foo в винде надо ставить winfoo а в линуксе linfoo
одновременно надо переставлять записи в зонах днс, dhcp, nmbd и еще в десятке сервисов. после чего делать либо service ... restart d линуксе а после настройки каждого сервиса в винде ребутить всю машину.
почему то никто этого не делает %(

Знаю, что не стоит давать совпадающие имена для хостов и доменов.
