Только что посмотрел и обнаружил багу - в ядре два модуля sym53c8xx.o -
один (более старый) лежит в /lib/modules/`uname -r`/kernel/drivers/scsi,
второй (который новее) в /lib/modules/`uname
-r`/kernel/drivers/scsi/sym53c8xx_2 - удалите один из них, после чего
запустите снова mkinitrd и все должно заработать.
Бага будет зафиксена в новом ядре.
