Вот-вот, проблема немаленькая. А с "ненужными" пакетами в apt
последнее время проблем практически нет. Лучше посмотрите в своей
системе, может уже стоит что-то ненужное что при обновлении тянет
за собой еще что-то. А проблема следующая скорее всего: пытаетесь
поставить новый, хм, sylpheed. Ему например, нужен новый libpng.
А если поставить новый libpng то полсистемы перестанет работать,
значит и это обновить. И понеслась...
