если подключать шрифты по уму то такого вопроса просто не возникает...
1) в дереве /usr/X11R6/lib/fonts/* лежат папочки со шрифтами.
2) в файле /etc/X11/fs/config прописаны через запятую пути к этим папочкам (если пользуемся xfs)
либо в файле /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 забиты те же пути а не путь к сокету xfs
для упрощения и без того легчайшей этой работы с xfs спешели для вас редхат придумал софтинку chkfontpath каковая показывает уже добавленые пути и позволяет добавлять новые или удалять старые пути.
таким образом, для переноса уже работающих фонтов надо:
1) скопировать каталог со шриытами с одной машины на другую
2)chkfontpath --add <этот каталог>
3)chkfontpath и посмотреть, как мы сильно затупили с предыдущим шагом
4)service xfs restart
5)grep xfs /var/log/messages на предмет сообщений от xfs и исправления тупизны всего предыдущего
6) xfontsel - смотрим на наличие новых шрифтов
пользуемся плодами своего скорбного труда.
я сделал по другому.
1) собрал rpm-ы со своими шрифтами type1 и микрософт трутайпами
2) на новой машине apt-get install msttf mytype1
и имею трутипы и тип1 шрифты в системе и плюс тип1 шрифты в gnome-print сразу.
собственно и все что здесь можно сказать. сорри за язык и стиль, но содержание вопроса, согласитесь, соответствует.
