Ой не надо. Хватает одних русских названий файлов в инете. Как
вебмастер бывший говорю ;-)
Кесарево -- кесарю. При чем тут "признаваться"? Или латиница в
именах пользователей и паролях хуже, чем дыры, крэши и прочие
"обратные стороны" фишек-плюшек?
С другой стороны, на моей (essentially Spring) домашней системе:
adduser маня -- OK
passwd маня -- token manipulation error (PAM)
passwd test -> русский пароль -- OK
su - test -> р.п. -- OK
login -> test -> р.п. -- OK
