Именно. updates созданы только для исправления серьезных ошибок.
В них не появляются новые версии!
Кроме того, Вы преувеличиваете нестабильность Сизифуса.
Я довольно давно "живу на нем" и больших проблем не испытываю.
Более того, я испытываю больше проблем, чем все остальные - все пакеты
из Сизифуса я пересобираю под себя из SRPM'ов.
