Сделал проверку драйверов. Система: Castle Beta 3->Sisyphus20011117, ядро
2.4.13-alt1-up-rsbac, с сервера взят архив pctel-2.4.7.tar.gz, собран и
установлен согласно инструкции. Модем OMNI 56K PCI (чип 789A-T). Проверка
велась путем подключения к гостевым входам провайдеров. Исходящая АТС 325.
Управление подключением через wvdial.
Результаты: Максимальная полученная скорость соединения 43666 (ответ
модема), с V.42bis до 6Кбайт/сек с сайта провайдера. Не всегда поднимается
интерфейс ppp0 (довольно часто), попытка поднять вручную привела к зависанию
компьютера и Reset'у. Не всегда правильно поднимает трубку (NO DIALTONE)-срыв
сигнала. При ответе модема DELAYED единственный вариант возврата его в
рабочее состояние - выведение модулей ptserial, pctel из ядра и очередной
набор номера (то есть снова поместить в ядро).
Интересный момент: при проверке модема под Windows:
драйвера есть для Win98, Win2000, WinME, WinNT. Но в Win2000,
WinNT,WinXP(драйвер от Win2000) модем не захотел перейти в импульсный набор и
все набирал в тональном независимо от кнопок "Pulse"/"Tone".
