Я поднимал нечто похожее. Пришлось вытаскивать дровишки (нашел в двух вариантах: просто собранный модуль и объектник с обвязкой). И то и другое достаточно глючное (иногда ядро падало), но в инет ходить можно было, правда в скриптах нужно было прописать все возможные ABORT`ы, иначе модем "вис".
