имхо просто надо всем понять что такие изделия как ntfs, samba, doc,xls и другие закрытые, и зависящие от МС (да и от других наверное не лучше) протоколы, форматы и т.д. никогда не будут стабильны.
Даже в случае их оперативного воровства :).
надо отказываться от прямой поддержки этих вещей и проталкивать что то свое - открытое.
Вместо xls и doc - xml +конверторы.
Вместо ntfs - ReiserFS XFS JFS
Смотрю я на вроде бы успешный проект Самбу и вижу те же проблемы и толчение той же воды в той же ступе. Надо отказываться от этого продвигать только открытые стандарты.
