если SS то скрипт надо переместить в rc.d и включить chkconfig
если CS то подвесить к xinet.d и ничего не стартовать.
есть менеджер для интербаза, есть текстовой sql-клиент.

есть доки в формате pdf от беты
их надо брать в инете отдельно.
