Почему же не согласимся? Запросто, если Вы приведёте доводы.
Сколько стоит? Сколько Мб Вам удаётся прокачать, скажем, за 10
часов? Сколько раз за это время рвётся связь? Какова рекордная
скорость соединения с серверными модемами V.90 (что удаётся
выжать)? Поподробнее.
На работе есть возможность экспериментировать. Я в своё время по
паре разных покупал, пока не пришёл к какому-то выбору. За свои
же деньги трудно приобрести большой опыт.
Скажу ещё, что оптоволоконные каналы мы дублируем модемами
Courier. Дома у меня долгое время такой стоял. Очень хорош, но
сильно дороже, чем IDC. Ну, наконец, самый "мощный" довод - IDC
бесшумно набирает номер (реле не тарахтит). Ночью это ценное
качество. Запустил скрипт, и спи.
