Не совсем так. Мама, точнее биос его увидит в любом случае,
но не той емкости, какой он на самом деле. И загрузиться с него
в этом случае особых проблем нет. За исключением случаев, когда
загрузчик будет находиться как раз дальше того, что видит биос.
Т.е., если Ваш биос видел у 40 гигового винта аж 30 гиг, то
если загрузчик находится в пределах 30 гиг, то проблем нет.
К примеру. У меня на одном из рутеров к маме, даже не помню какой,
но с биосом, способным видеть винты не более 8 гиг, зацеплен винт
на 20 гиг. Никаких проблем нет. Все грузится и полностью видится.
