Подтверждаю, у меня 2.4.9-alt5-up, один раз собрался уже
перегружаться, страшенный тормоз при заходе пользователем в mc в
каталог (примонтированный smb-ресурс), в котором:

Есть подозрения именно на второй файл, после прибивания его на
сервере тормоза потихоньку рассосались. В течение всего
удовольстваия kswapd поедал почти весь проц :)
Система - Spring2001/Sisyphus (обновлялся 05-10-2001)
