Он по "всеядности" форматов и "всепоказываемости" лидер, сам им под
консолью с помощью tdfxfb mpeg4 смотрю =) По удобности для сборки не
очень лидирует (если с xine сравнивать). Взять те же глюки с gcc и его
сильную зависимость от железа/софта

А у меня как раз наоборот - у xine все пучком, а у mplayer'а все время
надо звук синхронизировать
