Посмотрел /etc/rc.d/scripts/idetune. Там написано:

Но у меня вообще нет /etc/sysconfig/harddisks, а есть только
пустой каталог /etc/sysconfig/harddisk. Насколько я понял в
него можно поместить файлик к примеру hde, в котором прописать
нужные параметры. Но поскольку файл /etc/sysconfig/harddisks
отсутствует совсем, то я и не пойму каков должен быть его
формат.
А почему у меня нет этого файла?

Вклеиваю пример дикого размера.

Ни у кого сразу нет.
По хорошему бы "морду" в DrakConf к этому делу... Но ведь многие попортят ФС, заплачут и начнут вспоминать матерей до 7-го колена...

Да. Есть резон. Хотя туда бы можно было записать некие
достаточно безопасные для всех параметры. Наверное.
Хотя это не принципиально, конечно.

только что залез в документацию к initscripts в /usr/share/doc/inits* - там есть описание этого файла
в остальном все так и есть...
