Странно. Можно и собирать, и иметь. Я на p133/96M A4@300dpi
делал.

Действительно странно. А что за kde и что при это висит в top
(нажать M), что говорит # hdparm -i /dev/hda (если hda)?
PS: на Duron 650 / 128M c TNT2 Vanta кде2.1 работала очень даже
ничего, никаких претензий. Грузилась вот долго -- секунд десять.
Вроде у Вас по всем фронтам быстрее?
PPS: правда, я все равно (хоть теперь и не Duron/128) сижу в WM.
