Я бы не сказал, что она распространена мало.
По распространённости - конкуренты Oracle и Microsoft,
остальные в общем-то "теряются" в круговой диаграмме.
Хотя Россия - это особый рынок софта :)

Сомневаюсь. Насколько я знаю - наоборот,
СУБД-подразделение недавно было расширено.

Я же так и сказал про DB2 и Oracle - "монстры".
Но повторюсь, Postgres - полнофункциональная СУБД.
