Во-первых, стоит посмотреть в config.log - там лежат полные сообщения
об ошибках. (Это общий совет для борьбы со всеми GNU configure.)
Во-вторых, на свежеустановленном Spring очень полезно запустить
apt-get check (для этого даже не обязательно сначала выкачивать
индексы с помощью apt-get update), после чего исправить все проблемы с
зависимостями. К сожалению, унаследованный от Mandrake инсталятор
обращается с зависимостями не лучшим образом - практически всегда при
apt-get check выясняется, что где-нибудь чего-то не хватает.
