Hi!
А для чего, собственно, предназначены параметры "Client characterset" &
"Server characterset", выводимые консольным клиентом mysql? На нашем
хостере кодировка сервера выставлена в cp1251, а скрипты и все данные - в
koi8_ru. Посему идет неправильная сортировка. Докопавшись до этих опций я
было обрадовался - выставил для сервера cp1251 у себя локально, для
клиента - koi8_ru - но данные не изменились. Выходит, что клиент не
перекодирует данные. И этот параметр влияет только на сортировку? (Зачем
тогда параметр client characterset? Было бы достаточно одного server
charset). Пока пользуюсь тупой схемой: где-то год назад мной была написана
"прокся" (перловый модуль) - прокладка между DBI и скриптами, которая и
занимается прозрачным перекодированием.
Есть способ лучше?
