Недавно переводил статью для Russian Linux Gazette про кэширующий сервер DNS, сохраняющий кэш на диске между запусками (специально для dial-up'щиков):
PDNSD распространяется под лицензией GNU/GPL, скачать можно отсюда: http://home.t-online.de/home/Moestl/
Там же можно взять исходный код в виде пакетов Redhat RPMS:
