/var/spool/mail/ не нашел. Не там

Там ищите.
см. /var/log/maillog - ясно будет, куда они ушли...
И почему и зачем. Там всё написано.
Проверьте, работает ли MTA (Postfix)
Проверьте правильность адресата, кому доставляется
письмо (например: .... is pupkin here...., где pupkin -
локальный пользователь)

Пользователь должен быть в группе mail
В Netscape - протосол "local MoveMail".
