Облом-с. Canon LBP-800 -- WinPrinter. По-русски он печатать не будет :((

Возможно, проблема в /etc/ppp/pap-secrets
Там должна быть такая строчка:
<your_login_name> * <your_password>
Читать PPP-Howto, Net3-Howto и т.п.
По поводу работы LucentWinModem под Linux -- не знаю, если такие драйверы
действительно есть, то Вас крупно повезло.
